Old City Stroll and Sidewalk Sale (May 16 & 17, 2009)
In Spring 2009, the OCBC organized its annual Old City Spring Stroll and Sidewalk Sale. Over 50 businesses participated in the first ever two-day Old City Stroll & Sidewalk Sale held on May 16 & 17, 2009. The OCBC distributed information packets along with complementary yellow balloons and tablecloths were distributed to all Sidewalk Sale participants to give the event a coordinated theme.
The Wild Bohemians, a local Mardi Gras Jazz band, set the festive mood of the event by strolling streets while playing their tunes.
As part of a seperate coordinated effort, 100 complimentary flower pots planted with fresh Spring flowers (see Flower Pot Project) were distributed to spruce up the neighborhood in time for the Stroll and Sidewalk Sale.
