Warm Up. Old City celebrated the holiday season by showcasing the merchants that make Old City so great. The campaign also encouraged shoppers to shop independent retailers for the holiday season.
Parking options were offered to customers including free meter parking on Wednesdays after 5 PM and Saturdays after 11 AM, and discounted parking at the Parkominum with purchase from participating retailers.
A store front decorating contest was held with over two dozen participants. Customer perused our cobblestone streets and enjoyed these beautiful and festive store fronts illuminated in glowing lights, adding a bit of romance and warmth to the cooling days of winter
Bird Park became home to the OCBC Christmas tree that was trimmed with ornaments created by Old City merchants. A tree lighting ceremony complete with live holiday music and Santa Claus was held on November 28 to kick off the holiday season.
Every Saturday from November 28 through December 26, carolers and musicians spread holiday cheer on corners throughout the neighborhood. Customers enjoyed refreshments and cookies at select merchants, and participated in demonstrations, and trunk shows at retailers. Santa Claus also made his rounds to stores on each Saturday with candy canes for the little ones!
Two lucky winners were each the recipients of an Old City prize basket filled with goodies and gifts from popular Old City merchants and restaurants. Each prize was worth over $600!
